Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the School Streets Programme in collaboration with schools, local communities, and relevant stakeholders.
- Identify suitable schools for inclusion in the programme based on criteria such as air quality, road safety, and community need.
- Lead on the design and delivery of traffic management measures, such as road closures and pedestrian improvements, around selected schools.
- Liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure the successful implementation of the programme, including traffic engineers, communications teams, and local residents.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of the programme, collecting data on traffic flow, air quality, and community feedback.
- Manage project budgets, ensuring that expenditure is in line with agreed plans and objectives.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience managing projects, ideally within the transport or urban planning sector.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a range of partners and communities.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- A proactive and creative approach to problem-solving, with the ability to think innovatively about traffic management and road safety solutions.
